- Veeva Basics users with access to documents in both the Source Vault and CrossLink Vault within the same domain and permission to create documents in the CrossLink Vault
You can use CrossLinks to enable documents from one Vault to be used in another Vault within the same domain.
To create a CrossLink:

In the Vault where you want to create a CrossLink, navigate to one of the following and click Create:

In Veeva Quality Basics Vaults, Document Workspace > Working Library.

In Veeva RIM Basics Vaults, Submission Mgmt> Library.

In Veeva Clinical Basics Vaults, TMF Workspace > Library.

Select CrossLink and click Continue.

Click Choose.

Select the source Vault.

Click the + icon to select one or more documents. One CrossLink document will be created for each document you select.

Click Close.

Select the document type for the CrossLink document and click Next.

Fill out any required fields.

Select the Source Binding Rule to be applied to the CrossLink.

Latest Steady State version: CrossLink is automatically updated when the source document reaches a steady state version.

Latest version: CrossLink is automatically updated with the latest version of the source document (dynamic binding).

Specific document version: CrossLink document is updated only if a user specifically edits the version of the source document that is bound. Vault will not modify your CrossLink if users create newer versions of the source document.

Click Save.
The CrossLink document is saved in the Draft state. CrossLink documents follow their own lifecycles and workflows, not those of the source document.
